General Update

Okay, so I'm still sorta sick, but the worst of it seems to be over (hopefully). I'm still coughing horribly and have a splitting headache, but at least the 102-103 degree fever I was running for several days is gone. Unfortunately, between being slightly high on cough syrup and delirious from a high fever, I'm now seriously behind on just about everything, including the freelance work that pays my actual bills.

Now that I can sorta-kinda think straight again, I'm planning on getting the details for the new game proposals (including the rest of my research on game engines) done this weekend. Hopefully, I'll have the Patron poll portion of that ready on Monday, as well as a basic explanation of how the current patrons are going to get more say on the topic than the general public.

However, after that, expect not much of anything for the next week while I frantically try to catch up with my bill-paying work. I'm sorry for that, but until/unless I can someday make working on games my full time job, maintaining the work that lets me pay for food and shelter takes an obvious priority. Hopefully, it will only take me about a week to catch back up and I can begin hammering away at various game related things. Speaking of which...

I DID manage to get two things done while I was delirious with fever and high on cough medicine. The first was to better outline and even do a bit of pseudo-code for the last major Eros Academy update. I've got many of Naomi's scenes around-the-academy outlined now, which will help things go smoothly there. I'm honestly expecting this update to be easier than most, though the number of planned renders may eat up the time saved on difficulty. Render-wise, it's going to be one of the highest ever number of new images in a single update.

The second thing was that I was able to order a digital drawing tablet for use in making possible art for the new games. Rest mildly assured, I'm not starting from complete and total scratch as an artist. I'm actually a mildly decent sketch-artist, so I'm working from a solid basic foundation. To be honest, I'm more worried about my ability to do color than anything, as I've never properly learned that skill set. I've also picked up a couple of supposedly good Udemy courses specifically intended to teach character and monster art in an efficient manner. So I'm hoping those will help the transition from pen-and-paper to digital format go smoothly.

The drawing tablet is supposed to arrive on Monday, so as soon as my regular-work gets caught up, I'll be putting an hour or two a day into running through the coursework I have. I'll likely start posting some of the results of my experiments, once I get the basics down, as teasers for whatever new game gets decided on.

Expect an update, hopefully including the Patron Poll, about the new game concepts after the weekend! Until then...I need more Advil...
