Chastity Quest - Progress Report

Okay, I'm somewhat calmer than I was yesterday. Just as stressed out, I'm afraid, but at least calmer. Sorry again for the profanity-laced ranting -_-. Not my normal thing, but I REALLY needed to bleed off some rage at the universe.

Anyway, the good news, such as it is, is that I did in fact figure out what the bug was. Unfortunately, the bad news is that I did, in fact, also have to spend nearly six hours last night/this morning repairing the damage. Which effectively puts me where I thought I would be at the start of testing. I'm going to need at least another day or two to get through even a basic playtest and edit. And that's assuming nothing else blows up in my face. And, of course, I also have to get the Story Reward for the month done.

Right now, I'm seriously not sure I can do all of that before midnight on the 31st. Chances are high something is going to slide past the end of the month. I might, maybe, be able to get a minimally-tested version out before then...but I really really feel like I need to add a tutorial, which was something I was also planning on doing at this stage. One of the big reasons for that is that this engine isn't used that often for adult games and quite a few of the little bits and bobs, like the save feature, don't work the same way. This isn't quite like making a Ren'py game, where you can expect everyone and their uncle's-cousin's-pet chinchilla to know the basics of how it works. 

Likewise, there are some systems to the game itself that could use at least a simple, quick explanation so that no one is left confused. Things like how Time is handled, the Dominance system, and the fact there where are a LOT of gated scenes that change if you are wearing/not wearing the chastity belt, if you have high lust, if you're dom/sub, etc. In example, the image for this post is from a scene that is actually only accessible if you are submissive enough. If you aren't, you'll never even know it's there (until I get around to making a guide...and that is going to be a higher-tier patreon reward anyway - though I'm strongly considering releasing the walkthrough for Hope's Rest, at least, to All Patrons).

Long story short, I'm trying my absolute best, I promise. To be honest, I'm actually pouring more hours into this than I can actually afford, at the cost of some of my professional projects, and I'm going to be paying for it for a while after I get out of this accidental-crunch period. Whether or not it will be enough...I can't say. If anything slides, however, I will do my absolutely dead-level best to keep that slide down to as new days as possible.
