Love your reaction to this episode! I have to say- I NEVER cry over movies/TV, but Doctor Who (and more specifically David Tennant) managed to make me cry three times throughout the series (Doomsday, Journey's End & The End of Time). This episode is one of my very favorite for that reason. It gets me every time- even when you expect the feels- it STILL manages to cut that deep. Watching your reactions makes me want to rewatch the entire series! Keep up the good work.

Crystal

Greatest doctor who reaction i have ever seen, can't wait to binge the rest onwards !!!

Conal Brady

"Emotional Intelligence " I mean its soap opera type crap .

RTD is a prick for writing that last line such a dumb selfish move.

Hey man just kinda curious if we will be getting another episode this week? Since In the scedual you said you’d make up for only having one special last week. No stress if you can’t, just love watching your content, keep up the great work!

Sheriff

I never noticed, through the sounds of my own sobbing, that the song playing in the cantina at the end with Jack is the same song Tallulah sang in the Daleks In Manhattan two parter. Just another fun little Easter egg in this episode. I remember being so sad when 10 left but 11 stole my heart super fast. I have been excited for season 5 to come since you started this, it is the beginning of my personal favorite Doctor and his adventures.

Patrick McMahon

Man, Russell T Davies killed the ending for this episode, although I though the Micky/Martha marriage was a bit much! The RTD era (1-4/specials) had a few problems. It was often fairly cheesy, overly camp, and always looked like a teatime TV show. Nevertheless, it's my favourite because it never loses sight of how real the characters and their emotions are. For me, season 5 and onwards seriously improved the sci-fi and visual production of the show, but never reached the emotional intelligence of the Eccleston and Tennant era. Smith (11) was never my favourite, but he puts in a very strong performance - close to Tennant - and lots of people have him near the top.

Sweet. It always takes a few episodes to get used to a new Doctor but 11 has great run and you will love him.

David Broome

Thematically it made sense to me. He’s still running from his participation in the time war, so until he owns up to it completely, he’s going to regress both mentally and physically, so that would show in each subsequent regeneration

Personally, I grew to love the 11th Doctor more than the 10th Doctor, though I can understand why some people wouldn't. :) I hope you do like the new guy, Failwhale! His era is stronger in some ways and weaker in others than 10's, but I love it.

Will

I cried when I first saw Ten regenerate. He'll always be my favorite Doctor. I do like Matt Smith a lot though, and I think he has the best introductory episode of any of the Doctors, so I suspect you'll enjoy what is ahead.

Chip

My favourite era has ended! Personally the standard of the show doesn't reach this height again, but does have some intriguing ideas and episodes. I could never get used to Matt's doctor, I just can't take him seriously. Looking forward to seeing your reactions to the next series! :D

Brad

I had a huge issue with Matt's age -I think it was the first time the Doctor had appeared younger than ME... :D I felt like a younger person didn't have the gravitas. But I do think Matt Smith did a decent job - but never made it to Tenant levels for me. I haven't watched back Smith's era ever so I'm interested to see what I think of it second time round - and will watch it with my favourite Who reactor Mr Failwhale34 himself. :) Well done for all your fantastic work on the series.

Mark Ward

Great send off for a great doctor. But here comes my doctor

Jack Warren

There is a lot of significance with his final scene with Jack if you ever watch Torchwood, the spin off John Barrowman starred in, etc. Don't want to give anything away just in case you ever do decide to watch!

Exactly. Matt grew on me quite fast, because of his energetic personality, which was a nice contrast to this mini "season" that made Tennant into an edgelord in the series.

Skebaba

When 11 was revealed i already hated him and held such a grudge just because he wasn't 10. But with every doctor over time I warmed to them so I hope you do to.

Matthew Case

I find it hard to think when I look back that people say David's final line was terrible for Matt. It wasn't terrible and I didn't dislike Matt because of it. Just watch the audible shock at the NTA's when David annouced live on tv his departure the love he had is quite huge. Tennant and the 10th Doctor was huge in Britain just look at the ratings and the popular awards he won during his run (that sadly no Doctor since has achieved that level of universal popularity) Personally I knew no one that hated Matt Smith because of Tennants final line, it just reflected the majority of the audience at the time. Love him or hate him, David's popularity was stratospheric then and still is to an extent since he left Who too. Matt was new & a baby faced 26 year old at the time and had to prove himself to the wider public & he did a damn good job of it in the end

Jason

yeah i remember when 10 left and matt smith was announced as the 11th Almost everyone hated him . The line "I dont want to go" cetainly didnt help smith in the beginning ,but I will tell you this 11th hour is considered one of the best episode in the new who era . Certainly the best 1st episode of a new series from new who

Jason Lupas

You don't have to react to it but there is a 500 miles video which basically a fun little celebration and saying goodbye to this Era of Doctor Who that you might wanna check out. I think it's just called Doctor Who 500 miles on youtube.

Christopher Nicholas

Love the shade hahah. It fully is the end of an era. All the way from season 1-4.5, all our companions have been sent off, our doctors have been sent off and now the writers. Enjoy the new era!

John Smith

I love your random references because I always have to go look it up, and most times end up loving it

Christopher Nicholas

I agree, love the send off episode but it’s the last half hour that makes it spectacular

Here’s a spoiler for next season..... There’s a new credit sequence with remixed theme music. 😱

I thought Rassilon made the weeping angels reference not knowing they were still around... because he’s been involved with the time war for so long, he’s not up to date on current events. Makes more sense than the angels as time lords

It was both, Davies has also said that's who he sees it as, but he decided to take all reference to who she actually is out so everyone could envision who they saw it being (Susan, Romana, Doc's Mom, Doc's wife, etc.)

Dominic D

The theory that the mystery woman was the Doctor's mother originated either from the original shooting script, which clarified her role, or from what the actress was told her role was. Or both, can't quite remember. But since an explanation didn't actually make it onscreen, it is still strictly fanon/Word-of-God. I choose to believe that's who she was, though. Anyway, goodbye to the wonderful Tennant/Davies era. Time for Matt Smith-- Eleven is my Doctor!

RevanTheRebel

When Wilf asked about the mystery woman, the Doctor looked away at Donna and changed the subject. Donna is Wilf’s granddaughter. Could the Time Lady be the Doctor’s granddaughter? This was an epic episode. It was a treat watching it with you for the first time again. Did you recognize Alonso from the Christmas special about the Titanic in space? Bring on season five!!!

Tumbili

BTW, great reaction. So much fun to watch. Hope you have a great Christmas and New Year.

LB2000

In case you’re wondering, there’s no official explanation as to who the mysterious woman was who kept appearing, but from their reaction at the end when she was stood next to Rassilon looking at the Doctor, many fans have thought she may have been the Doctor’s mother. This scene also started the fan theory that the weeping angels may be fallen Time Lords. Not sure I believe either of those, but fun theories to talk about.

LB2000

looking forward to it julia! Don't be mad if it takes me sometime to warm up to him (It took a while for me to like Tennant!)

Failwhale34

I'm going to need some time forreal haha

Failwhale34

That was such a sweet moment to see that know one would have expected

Failwhale34

No way! Excited for the future of the series! Also what an end for both of them I cannot imagine what whovians were feeling back then (especially not knowing the future I at least know there's many more seasons)

Failwhale34

In case you didn't know, this wasn't only the end for David Tennant. Russell T Davies who had been the showrunner since the beginning of the modern series also left, with this being his final episode for the show. You're now going to be entering a new era, both under the new Doctor played by Matt Smith and the new showrunner Steven Moffat. Great reaction BTW!

That scene with the author and Tens regeneration still get me

Alex James

The next episode is the one that made me a Whovian. Awesome. You need a week to deal with this before starting on a new Doctor

Don’t worry I have a feeling that you will learn to love Matt Smith, however I might be biased because 11 is my fave. Season Five is awesome you are in for a treat 😀

I always love when the Doctor visits the book signing and she asks if he was happy 'in the end', not realising that very moment was his end. Plus Jackie saying 'in my time of life I'm not going to do much better...', Rose following up with 'you never know there might be someone out there'... yeah like your deceased husband from a parallel world lol

Mark McKeown

The Time War did make them worse to be fair.

The Timelords were always assholes the time war didn't change them they even forced The Second Doctor to regenerate.

I have no name

The song the ood sang is "Vale Decem", which translated to "Goodbye Ten" in latin

John Sturchio

Donna left the same way she was introduced As A Bride

I have no name

Sarah Jane looked upset because she knew what Is about to happen she’s seen it happen before

I have no name

Deadass 😂😂😂 they’re wasting budget on the freelance prophet

Failwhale34

Why do Timelords even need a Prophet?

I have no name

absolutely brillaint

Failwhale34

Ah well, sleep can wait ^_^ Merry Christmas dude.

Mark McKeown

I'm so excited to see you see this but sad as it's the end of an era, I loved Tennant, he's amazing.

Cooper Vision
