I also felt that they rushed through the heavenly fire bit but nevertheless, as Ptxragan said above, it gave us a bit of a break. It is also interesting that Iris said that by taking her magic they took a part of her. That echoes what Magnus has been saying about his magic. That is why what Aldertree was doing was so heinous. Everyone should have a choice of what happens to their body. The Malec scene at the end had me on the floor. Magnus is a very proud man who didn't even want Alec to know how devastated he was when he was dismissed as High Warlock. To fall apart like that in Alec's arms shows at what a level of despair he is. Heartbreaking!

2019-04-27 15:52:34 +0000 UTCPersonally I really enjoyed the episode, looking back I think one of the main reasons is that it’s given us a bit of a break from all of the angst we’ve been getting, and the whole mission with Simon just went for the most part how it was planned (which we rarely ever get). And the last scene was *chefs kiss* just phenomenal, I agree with everything you said about that and the acting from them just really fit in well with everything. Going back to what Magnus said a few episodes ago, he had Alec and his magic and that’s all he needed, he really can’t have one without the other.
