This episode started great but the second half was dreadful. Literally nothing seemed to resolve itself at all. I really do not like the last few episodes much at all.

2019-07-10 01:46:27 +0000 UTCfun fact: in this episode while the ponds are on their anniversary trip, amy mentions marrying king henry viii, who is the father of queen elizabeth i. what's so important about her? well at the end of the 10th doctor's shakespeare episode with martha the queen was incredibly angry at the doctor, hinting at some problem she had with him, and in his farewell tour he mentioned to the ood that he had married queen elizabeth i, among other things (you'll get an explanation for that story later this season). but the reason i mentioned this is that if the doctor is married to queen elizabeth i and amy is married to elizabeth's father, that makes amy the doctor's mother in law TWICE (because he's also married to amy's real daughter river 😂)

2019-05-12 15:25:06 +0000 UTCThanks Mark! On it, woke up at 6AM to those messages and am working on 2 alternatives for better audio! :)

2019-05-12 14:57:10 +0000 UTCI know someone mentioned it already but the audio for the ep is quite low, but you sound fine and the video quality is great!

2019-05-12 14:43:25 +0000 UTCFWIW the reason why the ending of this episode is a bit messy is because there were considerable problems behind the scenes. Series 7 in general had quite a few production problems, but this episode primarily suffered from the actor of the Shakri being incredibly uncooperative. This led to a considerable chunk of the ending having to be reshot and heavily edited in order to have it vaguely make sense. Great reaction BTW!
2019-05-12 14:40:06 +0000 UTCI am still unable to watch FMAB ep. 44. I think I'm going through withdrawals now XD
2019-05-12 14:38:27 +0000 UTCvideo is still processing. Will check back and see if if the links messed up. The wetransfer link should work for now!

2019-05-12 14:32:54 +0000 UTCAnd while it wasn't Brig, Courtney did appear opposite Hartnell as Bret Vyon in The Daleks' Master Plan, and though it wasn't part of the main series, the Brig did appear with Six in Dimensions in Time for the 30th Anniversary, so one way or another Courtney is the only person to appear on screen with every single Doctor from the Classic run, truly a legend.

2019-05-12 14:23:00 +0000 UTCi cant watch this episode
2019-05-12 12:07:35 +0000 UTCSeries 5 ep 1 still isn’t working

2019-05-12 11:18:11 +0000 UTCForreal- the confusion on my face. I was almost certain it’d be a two parter to get to that explanation... guess not 😂

2019-05-12 10:07:29 +0000 UTCEnjoyed most of this episode, though the actual reason for the cubes feels like Chris Chib not knowing how on earth to end it all.

2019-05-12 10:06:00 +0000 UTCLOL, oops. Good eye. That’s how you can tell I was dead tired uploading this (not recording the actual reaction, did that hours before!)

2019-05-12 09:54:32 +0000 UTCHey Arriane! Thanks for the heads up! Glad you enjoyed the new look. Audio definitely seems to be an issue. I’ll do some more tests before jumping into more videos. Thanks for the feedback!!

2019-05-12 09:51:10 +0000 UTCThat’s a solid point- 11 has aged a bit and nothing awful has happened- though I’m getting the feeling that won’t last long 😩😩😩

2019-05-12 09:50:58 +0000 UTCHey Emma! Thank you so much for the feedback, I’ll do some more tests before I record later this morning to have better audio :). Appreciate the feedback!

2019-05-12 09:50:19 +0000 UTCHey Coop! I updated only the GD links as those ones last longer than 7 days. Those are just for immediate downloads for newer uploads while GD is still processing. Are you able to download from the GD Drive links at least and or view them?

2019-05-12 09:48:48 +0000 UTCAll the Who download links are showing as expired for me.

2019-05-12 09:45:04 +0000 UTCI like the new set up however the actual audio of the episode was too quiet imo. Sounded as if sometimes we were just hearing it through your camera and the audio wasn't actually recorded? Not sure
Emma
2019-05-12 09:35:36 +0000 UTCOtherwise, you noted the way Smith compares to Tennant and I want to point out the narrative justification. Being distant from companions who weren't traveling with him full time any more and embracing the "dark Doctor" both had negative consequences that he realized around the end of his run. Is it surprising that since regenerating he's trying to be closer to his companions even when they aren't full time anymore, while trying to move away from his darkness? He's not fresh out of a war anymore either. There's been no truly bad shit to trigger his darker side in some time. It's logical that, until something pushes him again, he's at peace for the moment.

2019-05-12 07:41:35 +0000 UTCAh finally an episode where I have stuff to say again! For Kate, others have given the details but the short version is her dad was a major Classic Who character. He actually came up in S6 while the Doctor was running from his death- learning that the Brigadier had passed away was what snapped him back and convinced him to face it.

2019-05-12 07:38:19 +0000 UTCI think the new setup is awesome. It's more open and lighter, less cramped than it was before. However I thought the audio of the actual episode was muffled, and its quality wasn't as good. I had to turn my volume up to hear it better, but since your personal audio was fine, the two volumes clashed. Not sure how you would go about fixing this, but I thought I'd let you know, so you can fix it in the future. Still an awesome reaction, and I'm really, really looking forwards to the next one. It's a big one, and I'm eager to see your reaction!

2019-05-12 07:18:17 +0000 UTCThe next episode and then the Christmas episode are both really good.
2019-05-12 07:05:12 +0000 UTCSorry to disappoint but the cubes are a one-off. And yeah, the ending is extremely rushed. They’ve been teasing Amy and Rory’s departure for several episodes now, we’re all getting impatient. It’s time for them to **** or get off the pot.
2019-05-12 07:03:04 +0000 UTCWhat you were missing in this episode is that Kate is the daughter of Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, a classic Who companion better known simply as The Brigadier. He was the officer in charge of UNIT, and despite never actually travelling with the Doctor, is considered one of the all-time great companions, and appeared opposite every classic Doctor at least once excepting the first, sixth, and eighth (who, of course, only ever had that one movie). Although he never appeared in the modern series, owing in part to Nicholas Courtney's health, he did make an appearance in an episode of Sarah Jane Adventures, and there have been references to him; in The Sontaran Strategem/The Poison Sky, when Ten wished he was there and the non-name guy in charge of UNIT said 'Understandable, but unfortunately he's stuck in Peru'. And of course, in the beginning of The Wedding of River Song, the Doctor tries to call him up, only to be informed by the staff at his nursing home that he had died a few months previous.
2019-05-12 06:24:43 +0000 UTCThe "link" vs "download" are backwards.
