2019-07-14 22:18:45 +0000 UTCEpisode 4 is generally the hook of the series, if people get to this one they generally are 'in' for the duration. It only picks up from here, all the slow 'world buidling' is mainly done, strap in as it only gets more intense going forward. I love seeing people's response to Shed's death haha. It is a very much WTF moment. Fun fact. The expanse originally began as a role playing game that the authors came up with, before deciding to make a novel. One of the original players moved cities and had to quit, and that lad was Shed or so I heard somewhere :D The Martians speil about Earthers is interesting. In the books it touches on it more, but in the future, most people on Earth are unemployed because of automation etc. , with only a minority having access to jobs and education. Most live on what they call Basic Assistance or 'The Basic' which gives enough to keep you alive but thats about it. Whereas on Mars everyone is striving for the project of terraforming the planet, so the idea of being unemployed etc is inconcievable and Martians have this prejudice that Earthers are all lazy lay abouts, living off government handouts.
