The sounds are supposed to be heard from inside a ship. If you pay close attention whenever you “hear” the sound of anything that they’re showing in space, they immediately cut straight to someone nearby, who would have heard it through their own ship.

2021-01-10 01:06:52 +0000 UTCI forgot! :-). I don’t think it was out of character for Naomi to want to stay because these are mostly Belters on Ganymede, and of the core Roci crew, she is the only Belter. She wants to take care of her people. :-)

2019-11-04 11:28:07 +0000 UTCThe Expanse has been steadily growing on me, but I would have never made it past the first six episodes on my own without your participation, Failwhale. I first heard and took to heart the parable of the boy and the chrysalis many, many years ago from my high school English teacher. Nothing better happen to Naomi or Amos because I have kind of a crush on both. Also, I don’t think Holden was trying to change Naomi’s mind with the kiss. He saw her resolve and wanted to kiss her one last time before becoming separated. One aspect of the show irks me: the sound of explosions and spaceship engines in the vacuum of outer space. I can accept that convention in Stargate, Star Trek, Star Wars, etc., but I think The Expanse aspires to be taken more seriously.

2019-11-03 15:46:16 +0000 UTCI think Naomi wanted to do something that could help in the ”now.” It must seem overwhelming to face such a large crisis like the hybrids, protomolecule, etc. So helping the ship they came in on and working on helping evacuate was very tangible action she could take that could make an immediate difference. I got the opposite feeling than you when Jim kissed her. I don’t think he was trying to convince her to stay, he was say showing he understood and he wanted to part with love. Last thing: i don’t think it was so horrible in that moment when Prax ignored Amos getting shot - his daughter could have been right there and I’m guessing that would take over all his thinking. Looking fwd to next ep!
