Holly Crown of the Brumal Queen

Wondrous Item (Crown), Artifact, Requires Attunement

“The crown of the Fey Lord of the Winter Court, Queen Mab. This brilliant crown is a symbol of the cold lady, and her command over all frost, air, and darkness. Forged on the highest peaks of the Midnight Mountains by the smiths of the Winter Court, this artifact is adorned with gems made from frozen starlight and the auroras of the north.

 It is said that if a being wears the crown, they may be granted with a measure of the Winter Queen’s power.”

Lady of Winter -  As an action, you may cast the spell Dominate Monster with a DC18 spell save on any Fey creature. Any saving throws made by fey creatures to resist these spells are made at Disadvantage. In addition, these spells bypass any effect that would render a fey creature immune to the charmed condition.

Queen of Air and Darkness - As a Magic Action, pick a point within 120ft. For 1 minute, magical darkness and howling frigid winds radiate out from the area in a 30 ft. Radius Sphere. A creature with darkvision can’t see through this darkness. Nonmagical light, as well as light created by spells can’t illuminate the area. 

Creatures caught in the initial blast must make a DC18 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. Creatures who begin their turn in the area, must make a DC18 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, creatures take 4d8 Slashing damage and 4d8 Cold damage and have their speed reduced by 10. On a success, the creature takes half as much damage and does not have their speed reduced. 

This ability can be used 3 times per day and regains all uses at Midnight. 

Hibernal Hauberk - As a Magic Action, choose a number of creatures up to your Proficiency Modifier. Heavy, jagged, ice covers their bodies like a suit of armor for 1 hour. Creatures affected by this ability gain the following benefits. 

• Resistance to Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing damage. 

• Immunity to Cold damage and the effects of cold weather / environments. 

• Ignore difficult terrain related to ice and snow and have your movement doubled on those types of surfaces. 

As a Bonus Action, you may target a creature affected by this ability to cause the suit of ice encasing it to explode outward, ending the effect on the creature and dealing 4d8 Piercing and 4d8 Cold damage to all creatures within 15 ft of the target.
