This was a brilliant tactical victory for Shuna. Adalmann is stated to have 10x her magicules so he is capable of casting much larger and more powerful spells than she is, and she knew this. Shuna goaded him into using the most powerful Holy Magic attack so she could take it over and use the power behind it. That is why she was so condescending and kept bringing up and using her own version of Holy Magic in front of him. Thanks to her two Unique skills, Parser and Creator, she is a master of analyzing, manipulating, and creating her own magic. In essence, she is the worst enemy for Adalmann, whose whole arsenal is magic. The anime often doesn't do the best job of showing what is really going on in the battles, they often just show the surface level. Ifrit really was a parting gift from Leon. Remember, Shizu was summoned as a child like the students Rimuru saved. If Shizu did not have Ifrit within her controlling the energy, she would not have lived. This info was in the recap that you skipped but the reason for the struggle between Ifrit and Shizu was their differing ideologies which caused them to fight for control over the body. If you think about it, that is not Leon's fault. The power of Ifrit kept her alive and she was able to harness some of it for herself which made her a Champion. Leon allowed her the freedom to choose her life even though he summoned her. This is very unusual. Summons normally have to serve the master, that's the whole point of summoning. What all this means is the Shizu, Leon, Ifrit situation is not black and white. There is much more to it than "Leon and Ifrit bad, Shizu and Rimuru good" and we should be realizing this a by now.
