Yeah I don't recall if I said it myself but it really did feel like it'd work great as a season finale so I'm not surprised if it will be!

He also once said that the fact the mountain became the "trunk" of a cherry tree was a happy accident that wasn't planned when he first designed Drum Island. I also see a direct parallel between Kureha and the Live Action Garp, in that she was maybe testing Chopper's resolve, or maybe she was being as mean as possible to make sure he wouldn't stay.
