Chrysta's Dragon Transformation - Voice Acted + Alts!

Hey, thank you for waiting! Here's the Chrysta dragon transformation at last. I've been having some trouble getting in touch with the voice actor, so I'm posting the video and its alts here exclusively for Patreons for the time being. I'll make the default version public once I get her approval, but the alts will remain exclusive to you lovely Patreons. Just in case the video up there doesn't work, I've added it and all the alts as attachments.

This sequence has been such a blast to work on! It's the longest full color sequence I've made and like with Deanna, I've really taken a shine to Chrysta. I've got so many scenarios with both of them I want to bring to work on. As the Patreon grows, we'll start doing polls and suggestions for fun scenarios and I'm really looking forward to that.

I do want to give a shoutout to the wonderful voice actor, Sarita, for making this possible. The Alts

I made three alts, which you can download from the attachments. Two were chosen by Patreons and I made another one because I liked the concept. They are:

- The Fiery Red Alt. What if we switched out Chrysta's blue for red? The red and gold look is rather striking and I like it a lot.

- The Preserved Humanity Alt. What if Chrysta became a dragon girl, but she kept her original skin color? This alt shows how that would look. I like the more subtle coloring.

- The Solid Gold Alt. If Chrysta is doomed to be a servant of the gold for the rest of eternity, what if she looked the part and was completely gold herself? Like this idea a lot.

Thanks to some careful planning, it's relatively easy to make new alts, so I'm still open to suggestions for additional alts if you've suddenly been hit by a flash of inspiration. And if new Patreons join, they can request an alt as well!

Making Of

The way I make these edited comics is probably a bit inefficient, but I wanted to share my process. First, to make the effect where the words appear in sync with the voice, I use Adobe Animate. It may not be the best tool, but I'm so familiar with how its timeline works that I can do it fastest in there.

Basically I just cover the words with a box in the same color as the speech bubble and remove parts of it as the words are spoken. You can see the small part next to "please" I have selected and am about to delete to reveal the next word.

Once the words and panels are all synced up, I export the video to AfterEffects. There, I add the zooms and sound effects as a finishing touch.

Finally, I added the end screen with all the necessary credits. After that, I rendered the video to be uploaded here.
