I dunno if you caught it because it was revealed right as you were asking the question. The demon is the embodiment of addiction, normally it would have destroyed sally but March protects her. It was conjured by all the drug addicts that have used the Cortez as a safe haven to shoot up and sometimes die in.

2024-06-05 02:52:52 +0000 UTCI meant to say this last episode but the reason why they keep saying "Virus" is because they're not actually vampires in the traditional sense. Ryan Murphy said in an interview when hotel was just starting to air to that they're not actually vampires and that actual vampires are ugly demons with fangs while ones we see in Hotel are beautiful

2024-06-05 02:34:03 +0000 UTCFinally you know! If you look back, it explains why John was one of the guests at March's dinner, and he was really disappointed that John didn't remember anything. I remember when I first saw the "Devils Night" episode that it kind of didn't make sense that John had been invited with all the serial killers, that's the first big hint .
