The Shirogane loss at then end is because he let it slip that he had feelings for Kaguya. A loss in the show is when you admit/say something that says something along the lines of love and the other and he lost because he showed his love. Also I love this episode as the humor with Kaguya and Ishigami is fun and you get hints in his background story which is huge. I am reading the manga and honestly the manga showed actual flashbacks of his past briefly and the anime just talks about so I don't know which is better tbh but I think personally the manga did it better cause it gives you a nice enough hint to make you want more of whats going on more than the anime. Overall one of the better episodes of the season.
