July 2024 Update

this month, heres a bunch of random stuff.

first off, while digging through the files of my freshly-relocated website,  i found a couple old super short comics floating around that, as far as im aware, havent been available anywhere for years.

this first one looks like its from around 2009/2010 id guess. It features an ancient character that the most ancient of my fans might recognize. its kind of blurry but its a miracle its here at all- ive had multiple HD failures in the years since, and everything before a certain point that wasnt archived somewhere online is just gone. This comic managed to hide in a random folder in my website files that whole time, waiting for this moment...

This next little thing was previously only available in print i think? I'm actually not entirely sure, its been a while. I think it was printed in a little cheap zine alongside a comic about Pogs that has been on my site ever since, but i dont know if this one has been available online before now.

  ok thats enough of the past, lets look at some stuff i drew this year and havent shared yet.

speaking of zines, ive always really wanted to get a old photocopier so i could play around with that classic xerox look. you know the one i mean. id love to do some collage stuff and just genearl experimentation with it, make some comics based around it, so on. unfortunately they are mostly huge machines. from what ive seen, there were some smaller devices made in the 90s in a more manageable size, which i think could still give me the same look. ive been keeping my eye out on ebay on and off a few years now, let me know if you have any tips. anyway, heres some stuff where i was playing around with trying to replicate the look digitally, but its just not the same.

  heres a few little doodles i did on paper to try and digitally xerox up after. was looking for something simple i could draw very small, something that you could find on a photocopied punk cassette or something. a punk band called bad milk, apparently.

another look i got really into researching was like, 2000s edgy teen slogan shirts and stuff. uh you know like-

 this had me thinking about other 00s shirt aesthetics-

 -which got me thinking about that cutout paper look.. thick black outlines with a thick white outline around it. i got way into playing with this, even sort of combining it with the xerox stuff.

alright, how about a few more random things and we call it for this month, gotta save some stuff for august
