A devil's ass holds great significance. For to kiss a devil's as is to show him great respect. And to merge with an ass is one of the highest (or lowest) courtesies a devil can receive.
The ass is considered the filthiest part of a devil. An affront to all things pure and holy. So to willingly become a devils ass, sends an extremely bold message about how evil and wicked a devil really is.
Moreover, devils have a tendency to talk out of their ass, because it is the ass that holds seniority.
