Miseriae mood and setting concept progress

Chose one of the frames to start fleshing out the world and mood of the story and animation.

I am taking some inspiration from Tokyo for the visuals, so Ghotswire: Tokyo is helping me a lot. I like the cyberpunk feel Tokyo has while also having a clean aesthetic. My intention for Miseriae's setting is creating a clean, modern looking city, with lots of fantasy and magic aspects to it. I never really saw anything quite like what I have in mind, but I think I do have enough references to create something unique.

This scene in particular (and the trailer as a whole) is really heavy. It's a brutal world, and Eria will struggle a lot, but luckily for her, she found Diannae! Or, well... Diannae found her.

I will probably share the script once I finish this piece, but maybe I will need to wait for something else to happen first. I will talk more about it at another time, though. 👀
