I’m not sure if this has already been mentioned, but this game tends to use the color yellow as a means of guiding the player. So if you’re stuck or unsure what the game wants from you, looking for yellow in the environment can often help.

You're doing a great job, Jen! I know that learning the controls can be kind of frustrating when playing a game for the first time, but as long as you practice and keep playing, you will get better and better.

Maybe it could be helpful to see someone else play through the levels she’s gotten through, just to see how others handle those situations, how they move the camera, what weapons they use.

You have to craft shivs.

Why did you edit out Jen killing the Clicker?

*meaningful cutscene* Jen: "Is there gonna be more people to kill?" LMAO

It’s honestly like learning to play an instrument for the firs time. You’ll only get better and better the more you practice. Keep at it

Conservatively I have played games for maybe 30 000 hours. All using mouse and keyboard. I recently bought a console and after 30 hours of using a controller, I'm still not much better than Jen. Controllers just suck for intuitive movement in games like this, it's why there's so much aid from the games helping you aim.
You could just set up a random first or third person game if you have a PC and see if it's easier to play. Last of Us Part 1 is coming to PC on March 28

Don't forget to craft items (shivs, molotovs, etc) using the big button in the middle of the controller :)

you should have Jen play an easier game next... Give Elden Ring a shot ;)
