Just a little comment on the βthree episodes being a story in of itselfβ they decided to make it like a ballet show or a play (three part three act) truly unique and makes the pacing very interesting

Why I never faulted Vi for her reaction. Because, they had Vander freed, Clagger had made another exit, they were SECONDS away from all getting out alive then BOOM. If Powder had stayed back like Vi told her they would've been fine. Thats the tragedy of Powder getting involved.

I mean he kicked the bucket 5 minutes later after saving vi from the fire π
They were like "he refuses to die" and in the moment I'm just grinning but with tearful eyes knowing that they're spoke a tiny bit too soon π

Think you might be saying a little too much?

When Holden and Jen were like "Man, Vander just can't seem to die"
Me, a league player and constant rewatched of the show : (Knowing what happens) : ouff, boy you don't even know the half of it.

When I saw this episode for the first time. I knew exactly that this is a grim one throughout, and a writing masterpiece. Silco is an opportunist, but to him, thereβs more to Powder than that. From a certain point of view, her sister abandoned her. Silco knew exactly what she was going through because he was betrayed by Vander, who he saw as his brother in arms.

Also, they leave "magic" relatively ambiguous through the show due to them not knowing what it is, in the universe.
In episode 2, Heimderdinger tells us that he's seen magic destroy civilizations through his lifetime being over 300 years old, but for the most everyday person (especially in the City of Science Piltover) magic is a bit of a fairy tale.
Jayce and Viktor unlocking hextech (science capable of controlling magic) is the first time most, if not everybody, in this city, have ever seen something even close to what real magic is.
Continue with the show; especially in season 2, it delves more into the "Arcane" bits of the series.
Edit: This show is also the first time we got confirmation that Powder (Jinx as she's called in the game) and Vi are siblings. It was always theorized in the almost 15 years they've been out in the game (they were supposed to have matching tattoos at one point in the game but that would have been too on the nose for their relation), but never confirmed.

You asked about 3 episode internal stories, while true they're more of 3 episode time skips. The story continues throughout the season.

Happy you guys like it so far. I believe that when Silco found Powder crying in front of his brotherβs body, he didnβt take her in just to utilize her. He was looking at Vander and realizing his situation with Vander is a strong parallel to Powderβs situation with Vi. He can empathize with Powder and I think yes, he wanted to utilize her for his cause but he also felt something for her. Iβm about to watch the series finale and canβt wait for you to see what is to come!!

Rarely do we see such young characters react so realistically to such a situation. Power is like 8 or 10 here and Vi is still a teenager. The emotional responses were too real.

I could tell how engrossed you both became with this episode when you weren't really talking much. And the dual jaw drop from the slap was great, so glad it's a first time reaction from the both of you!

I'm so happy that you two watch the show. it's probably the best show I saw in a very long time, and it stays as good if not better each episode. eager to see more of it with you too ! (great editing for that episode, it's nice to have a bit more content in it than youtube ones!)

I think something that is easy to miss with everything else happening, is how incredible the soundtrack is for this show. The songs they wrote for this show just work so perfectly.

Yes both seasons were released with 3 arcs consisting of 3 episodes each. Each arc ends with a sort of milestone moment.

They do release 3 episodes as arcs. Vi and Powder have the best friends (sisters in this case) turned into enemies story, which is done very well. Jayce and Viktor, I love their friendship. We see friendships form and friendships die a lot in this show.

One of saddest episodes but it does get more sad in the future
