Blog: Coming attractions + Inspiration

Hiya!

I've been slacking a bit on blog posts lately. Not because I don't feel like doing them, but because I feel like I don't have a lot to report on! I've pretty much been doing what you'd expect, with Yearbook stuff and Mai getting finished. I've taken a break for the past few days though, because I had to undergo a minor surgery as well as go to the dentist (I brush properly, I swear, my teeth are just kind of a hereditary nightmare). There's definitely still going to be a stream tomorrow though, and this time the "afterparty" will actually have me playing games because I figured out how to do it properly.

This month has been a lot nicer as far as deadlines go, so I'm going to keep doing the poll right at the beginning of the month. I'm also deciding right now that you can submit Yearbook requests in the last week of the preceding month, so I can get to work more quickly! That means that right now, you can submit Yearbook requests for October.

I am also finally going to open up more Yearbook slots next month. They will be a little pricier than the existing ones.

Some folks in the Discord chat suggested that I could do a blog post on things that inspire me and things I want to do in the future. It's a little short notice for me to come up with a whole essay, but I guess I can tackle small things one at a time!

When I first started drawing DID stuff, I tried to copy the art style of whatever character I was drawing to the best of my ability, because I didn't want it to stop feeling like the actual character--I always say "I want to draw the character, not a cosplayer." Over time I've developed a style of my own, which makes things a lot quicker, but I'm not totally sure how I adapt characters to that style without them crossing that line--it just kind of happens. 

The only time I get in trouble is when I want to do something really lewd and/or sensual. My style really leans toward the cute side of things, so when I have to really bring out the sexy energy of a character or scenario, it gets really tricky. I want to learn how to do it because a lot of scenarios I still want to explore are very lewd. Because it's such a subjective matter of feeling, there isn't really a science to making things sexy--I just have to find good examples and dissect them to figure it out. What are some of the sexiest bondage drawings you've seen? Post them in the comments and I'll see if I can learn something!

Next time I'll talk about nostalgic inspirations and things I've yet to do either because I just haven't found the time or because I purposely ignored them.
