Blog: The OC vault

Apart from Rosa Raines, I've sketched out a bunch of other characters over the years. There's Rosa's old circle of friends from the fics, but they're going to make their own returns in the future, so I won't talk about them right here. Instead, I dove into the archives to look at some other projects.

First up is Elysse, the main character of a comic I've had in mind for a long time called Slave Spirit. It's set in an Arabian Nights-esque land where slavery is commonplace. Elysse is bought by a merchant and has to adjust to her new life serving him and dealing with the other slave girls.

In this sketch from 2016, I designed several outfits for her: a regular outfit, an outfit for when she goes outside (the sun is quite unforgiving) and a harem outfit. I would like to revisit this idea in the future, but I ran into a number of issues with it. Since it wasn't meant to be a really fetishy story and more for a general (though adult) audience, I had to tiptoe around a lot and that made me put it on the backburner.

Next up is this ninja girl. The 2016 sketch (left) sucks a lot, as you can see, so I redrew her the other day.

I'm always coming up with new ideas for video games with DID elements, and one of them was this Shinobi-esque sidescroller where you play as this ninja girl, tying up villainesses and getting into trouble of your own. I don't think this really went anywhere beyond the design and some daydreaming, because I'm a pretty terrible programmer and things like physics and collision detection are my worst enemy.

This bunny girl was also for a video game idea, one that I'd still really love to make. It's an endless arcade-style game where you ascend a tower, breaking blocks along the way to create a path. The more you cause trouble for the bad guys, the higher your score, and the stricter the bondage when you inevitably lose all your lives in the end.

The idea behind the game was that DID games often have a paradox where players want to lose on purpose to see what happens to the heroine, which can make for tedious gameplay since every new thing you encounter makes you want to suck instead of doing your best. With this game, you always lose in the end, but doing your best will net you better rewards when you do. I made a prototype of this and I still really love the idea, but once again, I'm not a good enough programmer to really make it work.

This girl wasn't intended for anything particular, she's just a warmup I drew one day. I really like her though, so perhaps she'll show up somewhere in the future?

Finally I'd like to leave you with this recent design. I'm working on a new game project with a couple people, and hopefully this one will go somewhere. I'm cautiously excited! Similar to the ninja girl, this heroine (who has no name yet) will go on adventures and both tie and be tied. I hope you'll be able to enjoy her journey! ^.^

That's all for now. Stay tuned for some more Yearbook content and, very soon, the fully-colored return of Rosa Raines!

Rosie rollin' out!
