Development Blog - September 2023

Hi all,

I'm going to start trying to do some more frequent development updates so you can see what I'm working on, and how far things are progressing.

I'm currently working on Chapter 3 which will be an important chapter, not because of the content in it, but because when I have finished it I'm going to start officially releasing and fully promoting Origin Story.

If you're already on my Patreon by this point (all 2 of you... here's hoping that number grows soon), or the lucky ones in my discord without pledging, then you'll likely have already played the first two chapters and won't be seeing anything from Chapter 3 for a while, however, there has been a number of changes to the first two chapters to hopefully warrant another playthrough when they are finally released.

The current plan is, when Chapter 3 is finished, I will release Chapter 1 officially. 4-8 weeks later, Chapter 2 will come, and so on... (I hope).

At present I am currently 230 renders into Chapter 3, all of which have already been postworked. I learned my lesson after postworking all 1300+ renders from the first two chapters all at once and nearly giving myself carpal tunnel, so now I am postworking as I go.

Chapter 3 is also completely written and coded... I'll just need to do some tweaks and work in sound and music.

The scene I am currently working on is a doozy. You'll remember from the date night with Moonsong that she has someone in the Sisterhood's containment facility - Isabella (pictured) - whose power would be useful for MC to conduct some experiments on. This leads to a choice of two lewd scenes. I have just finished one of them. Without giving too much away, due to the nature of the scene, and the two different options you can go down, this is taking a rather long time to pose, particularly with the limited time I have around work and family life. Lets just say that I have 40 fingers I need to make sure aren't clipping in every render. But I hope that I will finish it real soon.

The rest of Chapter 3 should be significantly easier to get through as much of it is story and conversation based, including one of my favorite character moments from Evelyn so far (if you pick a certain choice in a particular scene in Chapter 2 - one that was reworked since the demo). I really hope people enjoy it... and are heartbroken by it; it'll serve them right for picking that choice.

On another note, if you know how much I work on Origin Story, you'll know that I have written incredibly far in advance and I spend every free minute I have when I'm not at home writing... on my lunch breaks, sometimes even when I'm supposed to be working. I have written up to Chapter 14... and at that point I stopped numbering chapters. If I were to separate everything since I'd probably go as far as saying I've written 18-20 chapters now.

The particular "chapter" I am writing will be a big one based around one special event. It will involve no less than twenty main & secondary characters. My PC, while is a beast, struggles with four characters in the frame so it's going to be an undertaking and a half. It will also have up to twelve possible lewd scenes (with eight different characters and alternate scenes depending on choices you have taken with said characters) of which you can only obtain four - MC can only cum so many times. Given how far am I writing in advance, it's going to be a long old time before I get to that, so pray for me waaaay in advance.
