This Week!
One Of The Greatest Feelings In The World Is A Full Sketchbook Page. Messy, with dozens of heads and animals and trees and studies. Prolific, unhindered sketching has been the most elusive mindset for me recently. This is probably because I finished up grad school and devoted most of my artistic juices toward creating Check Please. It's so difficult to find time to sketch let alone that feeling of effortless sketching. So whenever I find an artist who can fill up sketchbook pages, I long for that prolific mindset to return. This weekend featured a lot of sketching for me. I got deeply inspired by revising at Baruyon's Tumblr as well as going through all the sketch zines that I hoard.

Drawing a lot of Jacks and Bittys. And a Nursey for good measure.
***Below are many spoilers.***
Progress: 4.8 – Letters. The art for this comic is...done! I just have to put it in InDesign and get the lettering finished. This also means some script editing. This is one of my favorite comics of year four. Below are a very exasperated Chowder and an Eric Bittle banishing the unholy.

Progress: 4.9 - Whiskey Just finished penciling this comic today. HOOOOO BOOOOY. Many of the backgrounds are directly referenced from the streets of New Haven. Guys, drawing Backgrounds is fun. Who is Bitty grabbing in this panel??? And why? Where ARE they?

Progress: 4.10 - Coach
Also finished up the pencils for this comic as well. I can't wait to (A) Ink this panel and (B) color it because toast interrupting Bitty was 100% a spur of the moment choice. Like, I randomly decided that Whiskey would be toasting some bread and the opportunity to have the toast cover Bitty's face presented itself thereafter.

BUT WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH COACH??? Who knows!
Progress: 4.11 + 4.12 - ??? Thumbnails! Just scribbly thumbnails. Just so many scribbly nearly indecipherable thumbnails. I can't wait to pencil them.

Fighting Gritty. SO LAST WEEKEND. I challenged the new Philadelphia Flyers mascot to a nebulous contest of strength on Twitter. I'm not really sure what would have come from it, but I did think about Bitty attacking Gritty and unleashing all of his anger on that personified fever dream. You know, really venting?
jack: don't take bitty to jail
police: we won't they'd eat him alive
jack: no, he'd run the place in three weeks
jack: he'd never want to come back
Okay, that's it for me! I got a lot done this week so I'm hyped for even more progress this weekend. I'm not traveling!!! IT'S FUN CHURNING OUT PAGES. \o/ THESE NEXT COMICS ARE SO EXCITING!!
