Hey folks! I'm trudging along, running the Chirpbook Kickstarter (here!) as well as creating the last pieces of content for the book. I'm illustrating and illustrating! It's been difficult to find the energy to draw lately, so whenever I discover a precious pocket of inspiration, I try to capitalize on it. Don't worry, I'm taking it slow.

BUT, here's a look at some of the pieces I've been working on. Again, I'm so thrilled that this book will exist. 🐤

Jack really got into photography during his senior year at Samwell. Here he is taking pics at Samwell's Spring C. (These images will be in color!!)

During Bitty's junior year, on his birthday, something weird was going on. Every member of SMH was...picking him up? A text from Jack clears everything up! HE WAS BEHIND IT ALL ALONG.

Shitty and Lardo and Jack--taking photos to share in the SMH group chat. RIP in pieces, Shitty's Flow. So luxurious. 😩

And finally, a step-by-step breakdown of my process for the next blog post header. (1) I come up with the idea and immediately sketch a rough thumbnail.

(2) Then I lower the opacity on the sketch and put in letters.

(3) I finish lettering and then draw in The Potato.

(4) I color the blog post!

(5) And then ink the letters. Done! I'll share it next week when I post Comic 4.17 on checkpleasecomic.com

And some quick thoughts on Day & Weekes ⛵ and Other Projects before a tiny Check, Please! spoiler below. (It's a picture of Bitty in graduation robes.)
- Been thinking a lot about my next graphic novel project. I'm drawing inspiration from The Bluest Eye recently, which I should probably re-read. It's themes are potent and are an engine. Particularly, the complex, fragile, and sacred nature of black girlhood.
- Almost done writing Episode 3 of Day & Weekes!! Very excited for these two dumb men to have dumb sword fight and then stupidly become friends
